Do you believe in ghosts?
I do, but I don't think I ever ran into one until I moved into my house.
My husband and I moved into our new home about 2 weeks before our wedding, about 2 1/2 months ago.
The day after we moved in I was at the house moving some things around when my husband had gone over to our old house to get some things. I was moving the couch around the living room when I saw a shadow. I looked over and it just faded away.
Okay.
Maybe I am just seeing things.
So, I was moving some stuff around again and I saw the shadow.
I was getting that feeling that someone was standing next to me and there was a legit black shadow in the space.
Okay.
Again, maybe I am just seeing things.
Or maybe I was just wiggin' out because it was the first time I was alone in a new environment.
So, my husband comes over and we start to move things around, and I don't even mention what I had seen.
My husband already thinks I am crazy, that would probably just put the icing on the cake.
Anyway, we got all moved in, got married two weeks later and started our lives together.
Cool.
Well one night we are sleeping and out of no where our dog Chico wakes up in the middle of the night just barking his butt off.
I wake up thinking well maybe Blake has gotten up to go to the bathroom, or is even sleep walking.
Nope. Blake's sound asleep.
Great.
Well, Chico is still barking and at this point I am thinking that maybe there is a burglar in our house.
Do I want to get up and have the burglar kill me?
No.
Should I get grab the gun that we have yet I have never even shot before?
Umm no, that's a disaster waiting to happen and I don't really feel like being on the news tomorrow morning.
So, I get up and grab Chico with me and he is still barking, somewhat growling in our pitch black house. I walk down the hallway, and even in the dark, there goes the little black spot. It moved as if it was walking right out of the door.
OH. SHIT!
Okay. Here I am telling myself "Lisset, turn around and go to bed. Do not look out the window and scare yourself more." So I go back to bed and Chico is fine. He lays right back down and goes to sleep.
Damn, is it really that easy?
We just possibly saw our ghost friend and here he is just passing right back out.
Do I wake Blake up and risk the chance of him thinking I am A.) More crazy than I already am or B.) Have him go all psychotic crazy on me because I woke him up.
Yeah no.
While I am laying in bed, trying not to freak out, trying to get myself some more sleep I am also praying I don't have nightmares if and when I do finally go back to sleep!
Well, I finally fall back asleep. All is good.
I go on about my life and but I was still thinking about that black spot I saw.
I think it was a ghost.
Not sure.
But def not going to mess with that thing.
It's not messing with me, just wants some cold ac and a place to hang out... go right ahead ghost, no worries here.
Okay so one day I am laying down on the couch waiting for my husband to get home from work and out of nowhere Chico goes running to the window and starts barking.
Okay, my husband isn't home, no one is outside, not even a squirrel or a bird. Heck, I didn't even see a wasp or anything.
It's real. We have a ghost.
So I tell my husband about this finally a few weeks ago and he was like "well, I haven't see anything."
And that's it.
Really Blake.
Really?
Basically I got the vibe that he doesn't believe me and he thinks I am crazy.
WTF.
Okay, so the day we get back from our trip that I told him on, we were in the house hangin' out and there goes the black spot.
This time it was outside on the porch. I saw it move towards around the house.
Oh shit.
Now it's pissed because I've told someone about it.
Where we live it's been said that it was build on an old cemetery.
Not to mention around where we live there are houses that have been said to have paranormal activity.
The thing is, I belive in ghosts, I've never had an encounter with one but I think they exist.
There's one in my house.
I think it's Casper.
Not his brothers because they were mean and crazy.
This one is friendly.
Someone I know.
So technically is the house really "haunted" or just occupied with humans and spirits?
Until next time....

We've survived 1 month with Chico.
Funny how things happen, isn't it?
I would've never thought that I would have a dog right now.
Me, of all people, wanted a cat.
Heck, I still want one.
Chico needs a friend to keep him in check. LOL.
I've only had one cat in my life and he was the coolest.
Now don't get me wrong, Chico has been way more loving than Armani ever was... but I still loved that freaking cat.
Anyway...
Last night as I realized it had been 5 months to the day since I had lost my mom I was kissing on Chico and thinking about how today would be 1 month since I picked him up.
And what a blessing he has been.
He's made me smile in ways I never thought I would again.
He's made me realize I do have some type of "motherly" instincts in me.
And it's crazy how I ended up with him.
I realized that if I hadn't lost my mom my sister may have not been given her dog which wouldn't have led me to getting my dog.
Therefore Chico is my blessing.
And still can't believe I made it 1 month with a puppy.
Here's to many more months with my sweetness. <3

New Puppy, Sick Puppy, Enter Mommy Mode.
Let me just start off saying I never knew I had a "mommy mode!"
Well last night it kicked in with my new puppy Chico.
Of course I have issues with my dog on our first night together. It wouldn't be my life if I didn't.
So let me back up to how Chico was given to me.
Back in August after our mom died my brother-in-law wanted to do something special for my sister, something that could help ease the pain. Since moms funeral was the weekend before my niece's first day of kindergarden as well as my nephew starting preschool that next week we had all been worrying about my sister being at home alone.
Mom lived with my sister Gina so she NEVER was at home alone!
My bother in law had surprised my sister with a dog that next week.
Chuquitita is her name. We like to call her Chiqi.
My sister named her that because that's what our mom would call Liliana!
Anyway Chiqi has been a blessing to my sister. She makes her happy, she cuddles with her, she has made that family smile in ways I thought we'd never see again.
Of course, the pain of losing someone so close to you never really fades away but it simply diminishes in the background when other things that make you happy come along.
Chiqi has been just that.
I know mom would've loved her!
So my sister went to Abilene a few weeks ago and asked me to dog sit. And boy was it fun!
Chiqi was so stinkin' sweet. I just loved her.
When she left Blake and I were sitting there giving her hugs and kisses wishing she wasn't leaving us.
Well, my sister is simply amazing and decided to buy me a dog.
Yesterday we picked him up and the second I held him he gave me puppy kisses and snuggled his head into my neck.
We were meant for each other.
Well on the way home he threw up.
I honestly thought it was because my brother-in-law was driving like a maniac.
Then, late last night Chico and I fell asleep and I woke up to him in my face about 3:30 am.
I look over and see something on the bed.
WTF is that.
Worms.
O.M.G. Worms.
(Enter mommy mode): Like I said, didn't know I had it in me.
I got up, went to the bathroom and started cleaning my sweet little Chico. Then went back to the bed and stripped the sheets off.
Friggin gross.
My poor Chico has tape worm.
On our first night together.
Like I said, it wouldn't be life if there wasn't some kind of dang problem.
I've been watching him like a hawk.
Checking his butt.
Checking his poop.
Yep, mommy mode.
Never realized I had it in me but I love this dog.
He's sweet, he's cuddly, he snores, he's currently chewing on my blanket but he's the best!
And I've now become that crazy dog lady after 24 hours I have a handful of pictures, spent too much money at Petsmart and have our first vet appointment tomorrow!
Pray for me!
